Benchmarking and Statistical Data Collection –Practical suggestions for a data-driven analysis of the Palestinian tourism ecosystem(s)
February 21, 2022 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

How many tourists visit Palestine? Where do they come from and how long do they stay? How much money do they spend and where? Which sites are most frequented and what do foreigners think about Palestinian hospitality?
Successful destination management relies on accurate and conclusive data and statistical information. Obtaining such information is no simple task and destinations invest great deals in profiling their target markets and visitors to better steer and plan their tourism sector’s marketing and development activities.
This edition of our tourism talks will take a look at the (well known) challenges of benchmarking and statistical data collection for the Palestinian tourism economy and discuss practical suggestions how a data-driven analysis post-COVID could look like.
